Partnership with Mobile Apps Warehouse will see retailers and e-tailors stock product
Hertfordshire-based distributor Mobile Apps Warehouse has partnered with Micro-P to distribute its BlackBelt Smartphone Security Suite across the UK.
The BlackBelt retail pack, which costs £24.99 a year, provides mobile phones with a purpose-built antivirus program, as well as the ability to lock and wipe the device in the event of it being lost or stolen.
It will also provide the location of the device if a new SIM-card is inserted. Users will also be able to block spam and unwanted or malicious text messages.
Basingstoke-based Micro-P is now distributing the BlackBelt retail pack to a number of its e-tailers and retailers as of last week, although these could not be revealed at press.
Mobile Apps Warehouse managing director David Hinc said Micro-P was seen as the “ideal fit” to sell the BlackBelt product, due to the wide-ranging scope of its mobile and software space.
Hinc said: “When we engage with customers independently they seem to point us directly by default to Micro-P, which gives us a high degree of confidence in its capabilities.
“With more and more users conducting online transactions from their smartphones, given the current low adoption-rates of mobile anti-malware, the risks are obvious,” Hinc concluded.
Earlier this month BlackBelt partnered with Vietnamese distributor MV Corp to sell its SmartPhone Defence product in Vietnam and Cambodia.
That deal will see the software sold to the region’s largest operators, such as Viettel, VinaPhone, MobiFone, Metfone and Cellcard.
